This doesn't sound like MGR-2, if that was triggering you wouldn't be  
seeing corruption, you'd be seeing a failed commit.  A friend have  
kindly given me shell access to his home machine - an AMD64 running  
Solaris-x86.  I'll see if I can't setup a small script to do this a  
few hundred/thousand times and see if it fails there.
